ICSI($1,500–$3,000)

A single sperm is injected directly into each egg. Recommended when sperm quality is low. Included in the base IVF fee at some Ontario clinics.

PGT-A Genetic Testing($3,000–$6,000)

Screens embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before transfer. Often recommended for patients over 35.

Embryo/Egg Freezing($500–$1,500)

Vitrification (flash-freezing) of embryos or eggs for future use. Included in the IVF package at some Ontario clinics; effectively required for freeze-all and PGT-A cycles.

Donor Sperm($1,000–$2,500)

Purchased from a licensed Canadian or international sperm bank, typically $1,000–$1,600 per vial plus shipping.

Donor Eggs($15,000–$32,000)

Frozen donor eggs from a Canadian or US bank typically run $15K–$25K (6 eggs); a fresh known-donor cycle including agency, screening, retrieval, and reimbursable expenses can reach $30K+.

Annual Storage($450–$800/yr)

Yearly cryogenic storage fee. The first year is often included in your treatment package.

How these estimates are calculated

Clinic fee records have different package definitions, source dates, and missing fields. The calculator uses them with separate modeled allowances for medication and other components, but it does not normalize clinic packages or establish a comparable market range. Provincial funding programs, grants, and fertility tax credits are modelled from official government sources and were last reviewed in September 2026.

Each estimate links to the official program page so you can verify the rules that apply to you. Tax credit estimates are simplified — your actual refund depends on your full tax situation.

How much does IVF cost in Canada?

IVF fees in this directory come from clinic records with different package definitions and dates, so they do not establish one comparable national range. Use the calculator as a planning model, then ask a clinic for an itemized quote covering medication, monitoring, sedation, retrieval, laboratory work, transfer, testing, freezing, and storage.

How much does IUI cost in Canada?

IUI records vary in whether they include monitoring, medication, donor sperm, and laboratory services such as sperm preparation. Use the calculator as a planning model and confirm the full itemized cost with the clinic. Provincial coverage and patient eligibility also vary.

How much does egg freezing cost in Canada?

Egg-freezing fees are not standardized across clinics. Ask whether a quote includes monitoring, retrieval and sedation, medication, freezing, and any initial storage period, and confirm the recurring storage fee separately. The calculator provides a planning estimate from its current inputs.

Is IVF covered by provincial health insurance in Canada?

The Ontario Fertility Program funds 1 IVF cycle per patient per lifetime for eligible patients under 43. Medications are not covered. RAMQ insures 1 IVF cycle for life for eligible patients. Medication coverage follows the public prescription-drug plan's rules. Up to $19,000 toward one IVF cycle, income-tested. Launched July 2, 2025. 40% refundable tax credit on fertility expenses, up to $16,000/year (as of 2024 tax year). 40% refundable tax credit, up to $8,000/year (max $20,000 eligible expenses). One-time reimbursement: 100% of one IVF cycle, up to $20,000 per household. Up to $29,000, which can be staggered over one or more eligible assisted-reproduction treatments. 50% refundable tax credit on eligible fertility expenses, up to $10,000 lifetime (2025 tax year onward). Lifetime benefit of up to $20,000 per household; the current program is not income-tested.
